HOPE 🕯
Today is the first Sunday of Advent! Advent is a period of waiting and preparation for the celebration of Jesus' birth. We may prepare our homes with Advent wreaths or calendars. More importantly, we prepare our hearts with prayer, quiet meditations, song, and reading God's word. I encourage you to spend a little time each day between now and Christmas, focusing on what the birth of the Savior for the world means for your life. Rise before the sun comes up, light a candle, find a meaningful song on YouTube, read a passage from the Bible, and sit quietly with God, inviting Him to fill your mind and heart.
Genesis 3:14-15
14 So the Lord God said to the serpent,
14 So the Lord God said to the serpent,
“Because you have done this,
“Cursed are you above all livestock
and all wild animals!
You will crawl on your belly
and you will eat dust
all the days of your life.
I will put hostility between you and the woman,
and between your offspring and her offspring.
He will strike your head,
and you will strike his heel."
“Cursed are you above all livestock
and all wild animals!
You will crawl on your belly
and you will eat dust
all the days of your life.
I will put hostility between you and the woman,
and between your offspring and her offspring.
He will strike your head,
and you will strike his heel."
1 John 3:8 The one who commits sin is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. The Son of God was revealed for this purpose: to destroy the devil’s works.
