Morning Bible Study: Luke 8:1-3

8:1 Afterward he was traveling from one town and village to another, preaching and telling the good news of the kingdom of God. The Twelve were with him,
and also some women who had been healed of evil spirits and sicknesses: Mary, called Magdalene (seven demons had come out of her);
Joanna the wife of Chuza, Herod’s steward; Susanna; and many others who were supporting them from their possessions.

Commentary

(the following is from Matthew Henry's Concise Commentary, 1706 -- www.christianity.com)

"We are here told what Christ made the constant business of his life, it was teaching the gospel. Tidings of the kingdom of God are glad tidings [good news], and what Christ came to bring. Certain women attended upon him who ministered to him of their substance. It showed the mean [humble] condition to which the Savior humbled himself, that he needed their kindness, and his great humility, that he accepted it.

Though rich, yet for our sakes he became poor."
