The Book of Acts was written by Luke. As we've just read in the latter portion of Acts, Luke describes the conversion, travels, and ministry of Paul. The link to a page at this site (blueletterbible.org) provides a timeline of the life of Paul. Items numbered 53 and 54 on the timeline show us when Paul's ministry to the church at Ephesus began (Acts 19).
Scrolling down to item number 61 on the timeline, we see that Paul wrote his letter to the Ephesians during his two-year house arrest in Rome, which Luke wrote about in Acts 28:30-31: 30 For two whole years Paul stayed there in his own rented house and welcomed all who came to see him. 31 He proclaimed the kingdom of God and taught about the Lord Jesus Christ-with all boldness and without hindrance!

Located in the western and coastal region of the Asian land mass which is modern-day Turkey, 1st Century Ephesus was a leading commercial, political and intellectual city in the Mediterranean of it's time.
Paul's letter to the Ephesians is said to be an instructional manual on unity, living, and prioritizing God for the Christian church and its members. The letter can be broken into two parts: first, the description of what God has done for us through Jesus Christ, and second, how we are to respond to His loving grace through right living and our relationship with Him.
With this bit of background information, we'll begin reading Paul's letter to the Ephesians tomorrow.
