M-W-F Bible study: 1 Corinthians 3:5-9

Good morning!
I have some amazing news to share, and thanks to offer, to you for your prayers, and to our Lord for listening.
My step-mom had surgery last Wednesday. They removed her adrenal glands and ovaries, sent tissue samples to pathology, and, brace yourself, there is no cancer! The doctors were as baffled and amazed as us. They were certain everything indicated cancer. She has spots on her liver, the MRI showed her ovaries looked cloudy and she had a large mass on 1 adrenal gland. They did biopsies beforehand, but the findings were inconclusive. The mass now has been ruled as benign. The surgeon said she's about the healthiest 81 year old woman he'd met. The liver nodules are still there, and they'll do a follow up scan in 6 months. But for now, they are not terribly concerned! Praise the Lord! Right?! Praise the Lord!
I had to share, since I knew you had prayed. Thank you for your prayers!

Blessings,
Lili

5What, after all, is Apollos? And what is Paul? Only servants, through whom you came to believe--as the Lord has assigned to each his task.6I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God made it grow.7So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow.8The man who plants and the man who waters have one purpose, and each will be rewarded according to his own labor.9For we are God's fellow workers; you are God's field, God's building.

(the following is from Matthew Henry's Concise Commentary -- www.christnotes.org)

"Commentary on 1 Corinthians 3:5-9

The ministers about whom the Corinthians contended, were only instruments used by God. We should not put ministers into the place of God. He that planteth and he that watereth are one, employed by one Master, trusted with the same revelation, busied in one work, and engaged in one design. They have their different gifts from one and the same Spirit, for the very same purposes; and should carry on the same design heartily. Those who work hardest shall fare best. Those who are most faithful shall have the greatest reward. They work together with God, in promoting the purposes of his glory, and the salvation of precious souls; and He who knows their work, will take care they do not labour in vain. They are employed in his husbandry and building; and He will carefully look over them."

  1. Wonderful news! Sorry, I'm a day behind in keeping up with your Bible study, or I would have commented sooner. :) I bet there's a lot of rejoicing going on in your neck of the woods.

    1. Hi Kris,
It's just the most amazing news we could have received. But our God is AMAZING! So it shouldn't come as too big of a surprise.
